Custom piñatas

Any character, any shape, any size — from a number for a first birthday to a figure taller than the person breaking it.

How they are made

Cardboard, tissue paper, and a lot of cutting

A piñata starts as a cardboard shape. Every colour on it is cut into fringe and laid on by hand, one row at a time, until the whole surface is paper.

It is slow work, and it is the reason these do not look like the ones in a shop window.
